The One and Only David Kaplan
David grew up in conservative Jewish home. He attended Camp Ramah in Wisconsin as a camper and counselor. While at camp he was nicknamed the “Jewish Michael Jordan.” He was also active in USY as chapter president for two different chapters and on the CRUSY Regional General Board. During his sophomore year in high school, David participated in Tichon Ramah Yerushalayim (TRY).
Prior to joining United Synagogue Youth (USY), David was the Development Manager at the Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation (JPEF). David has a Master of Science in Management from the SIT Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science from The Ohio State University (OSU). While attending OSU he studied abroad in Israel at Hebrew University and the University of Cambridge in England.
David enjoys outdoor adventures, camping, food—including banana boats (if you don’t know what that is ask David before your next camping trip.) He has traveled extensively in the Middle East, Europe, Central America, and New Zealand.
David met Talia, the love of his life, while working at the American Jewish Committee in Washington, DC. They were married three years later on the set of the movie Cider House Rules.
